Jam Petrochemical Company as the largest olefin plant in the world was officially inaugurated by the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejad, in the 30th anniversary of Islamic Revelution.
Several State authorities attended in the opening ceremony, such as Member of the Parliament from Kangan and Assalouyeh, Boushehr's Governor General, NPC's Managing Director and the President of Islamic Republic of Iran.
After the unveiling ceremony of the inauguration statue, the MP from Kangan and Assalouyeh, JPC Managing Director, Oil Minister and President Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejad delivered speeches and finally toured the complex.

The initiation of JPC's Butene-1(100 KTY) Project Construction Work
Butene-1 Project is one of the upstream units of JPC's Polyolefin units, which regarding its value added in production of bimodal Linear Polyethylene film-grades, was considered among the units of Phase2 of JPC.
At present the amount of Butene-1 produced within the country is 34000 tons per year, whose production is carried out by Arak, Amirkabir and Tabriz petrochemicals. Butene-1 project, with a capacity of 100000 tons/year, is supposed to meet the present and future needs of local Polymer plants and will be designed and implemented in 37 months.
The project's contract was concluded as EPCC with Nargan Engineering and Construction Company in July 2008 and its current progress is more than 19%.
This project is planned and implemented with following goals:
1-Maximum use of the Local Engineering Capability;
2-Optimum utilization of local manufacturers' capability in various disciplines;
3-Complete Self Sufficiency of Polyolefin plants from imported Butene-1;
4-Producing a more value added product and breaking off the dependency to imports of this product in the future;
5-Maximum use of experiences gained in the execution of Phase 1 projects;
6-Promoting the self-esteem spirit in the field of executing industrial units and job creation.
