History Of Jam Petrochemical Company

On the 8th of May 1978, Aloflour Company was registered under Reg. No. 32285 at the Registration Office for Companies and Patent Rights and on the 30th of October 1978, its title was changed into Iran Fluoride Aluminum Company. On the 30th of August 2000, apart form altering the articles of association, the name of the company was changed into Jam Petrochemical Company (Private Joint Stocks).

The 10th Olefin Plant (Jam Petrochemical Company) is one of the country’s strategic development plans whose preliminary phases and feasibility studies were undertaken in NPC’s Planning and Development Management Office and its executive operations were granted to Jam Petrochemical Company in 2000.
The execution of the project is aimed at fulfilling some purposes of the Iranian Industrial Development Plan. Some of the most important ones are as follows:
1- Increasing the revenue and promoting the national scientific, technical, economic and social level
2- Promoting the export of petroleum and petrochemical products and increasing Iran’s comparative share in regional and global markets
3- Optimum utilization of hydrocarbon resources and consequently producing more value added
4- Promoting the technical knowledge level in engineering and equipment manufacturing fields
5- Stimulating employment
6- Increasing the national project execution capability

The Olefin Unit of Jam Petrochemical Company is the largest Olefin unit in Iran and all around the world with an annual production capacity of 1,320,000 tons of ethylene and 306,000 tons of propylene. The execution of a project of such magnitude is seen as a significance achievement in the country’s petrochemical industry.
Taking advantage of the state of the art technologies and choosing the capabilities in the global scale are among the issues that are concerned in designing and constructing the other production plants of the complex. According to the final review of ratified budget, the evaluation of total investment to execute the project includes 1,585 million dollars of currency budget and 11.185 milliard rials of national budget.
In line with the goals and purposes of privatization in the country, 24.5% of the stock holds of Jam Petrochemical Company was assigned to Civil Pension Fund Investment Company, and 25.8% was assigned to Social Security Investment Company (SSIC).  Furthermore, 100% of the Ethylene Glycols Plant was transferred to FarsaChimie Company and 51% of Poly Propylene Plant was transferred to Sadra Company (Petrochemiran).
